Ok, I’ll admit it, I might be a little wedding-obsessed. I still love looking at wedding blogs over my cup of coffee in the morning, and I love to dream about what Gabe and I would do if we did a big 10 year vow renewal…which is coming up really soon, like next March soon! So you can imagine my surprise and excitement when I discovered the inspiration shoot that we collaborated on with Allison from Engaged & Inspired, (along with with an amazing team of talented vendors) featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs this morning…you can check out the full feature here over at 100 Layer Cake. The shoot was inspired by leather and tulle and I loved the way that those two contrasting materials created a beautiful balance between something rustic and ethereal, which perfectly suited the beautiful grounds up at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley.

I never imagined that a little sneak preview image that I posted the day after an amazing wedding would end up on People.com and Enews.com, so I was equally shocked and honored when the bride shared the news with me! Angelique and Jason are two of the sweetest people that you could ever hope to meet, let alone document such a special day in their lives, and I’m so incredibly excited about the big and bright future ahead of them both. Gabe and I had the best time documenting this wedding at a beautiful private estate in the Santa Cruz mountains. Ashley and Joey are just the sweetest couple, and they poured so much of themselves into their day, from landscaping the grounds, to creating all of the custom diy signs and details, to their ‘you are special’ red dinner plates that Ashley used to eat every birthday meal off of when she was growing up. (I absolutely love that they gave me one of those plates as a gift that day too….told you they were the sweetest!) All of the organic, rustic and latin details added so much character to their wedding day and I’m so excited to see the fruits of their labor featured on Rustic Wedding Chic. Emily and Zac would have to be two of the sweetest people on the planet, so documenting their inspiring and intimate wedding day was a true honor and a pleasure for both Gabe and I. We had so much fun with the two of them and their friends that we couldn’t resist their invitation to the after party, so we ended up celebrating the love with the happy couple into the wee hours of the morning. Gabe and I had so much fun documenting this wedding, and we will never forget our 4WD trip up to the mountain top to watch the sunset with these two wonderful people! The day was filled with beauty and fun (and a great team of vendors) and I’m thrilled that Style Me pretty just featured this wedding. It’s always a good day when I get to photograph a wedding at one of my favorite venues, and it’s an equally good day when that wedding gets published on Style Me Pretty! Kari and Nick are such a sweet couple, and they put a whole lot of time and effort into creating a day as memorable as this one.
