Beijos Events // Girls’ Day Out // Santa Cruz Shopping Tour

The Beijos Events babes put together an amazing girls’ day out in Santa Cruz, with stops at all of my favorite stores in town and ending with beers and a bonfire on the beach! We started the afternoon with organic beer tasting at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, then went to both of the Cameron Marks boutiques in the Swift Street Courtyard, then headed downtown to Stripe and Stripe Men on Walnut Avenue, followed by a gourmet ice cream break at the Penny Ice Creamery, then back to shopping at Dig Gardens before ending the day at Twin Lakes for a sunset bonfire and some s’mores of course. Check out the full feature over on Style Me Pretty Living.

happy holidays | a few recent card designs

What an amazing year 2012 has been! I’ve been lucky enough to witness some of the sweetest people as they say their vows, party like rockstars, start their families, and then continue to grow their families. It has been such an honor to share in all of the intimate, hilarious and emotional moments of these people’s lives, and I’m beyond excited to see what 2013 will bring. My new year’s resolution is to finally get caught up on my blog and share more of these moments, but in the meantime here are just a few of the cards that I’ve recently designed for some of my favorite clients. As 2012 comes to a close I am filled with gratitude for all of you. Happy holidays from my family to yours!

printed metal & blue leather | wedding albums | bay area wedding photographer

I am very open minded when it comes to the style of a wedding; vintage, edgy, glam, modern, I love it all, but when it comes to the wedding album, I will admit, I do have some opinions. I don’t like ones that look like they were made in any year of the ’80s, or even the ’90s. I prefer clean, modern looking ones with lay-flat  pages. I love the ones that tell the whole story of a couple’s amazing day in a collage of moments and moods and colors. I want to see an album reflect the couple’s personal sense of style, but most of all I love an album that dares you to put it on the coffee table, and even pass it on to the kids.

After what felt like an endless search, I finally found the perfect album fabricators. They offer 100s of different custom cover options, and allow me to make each album look totally unique. Here are some pages from two that I recently shipped. I love the look and the durability of the printed metal cover, and the leather cover with a photo indent is a timeless classic.

a thoughtful gift | custom collage | santa cruz newborn photographer

Personal, thoughtful gifts are always the best kind of gift, and I have always loved a photography gift for consistently fulfilling that criteria. I may be guilty of overdoing the photo gift in my own family, but for most, it’s an undeniably great gift. This was a commissioned piece for a deserving grandmother who adores her two grandchildren. She has one collage focusing on the older grandson, so now the newest grandson gets his own collage too.
